Proposed Itinerary
Day 1 : the way to Dades
An early departure from your hotel in marrakech, we will drive across the High Atlas Mountains, passing by a lot of charming Berber villages on the road and climbing to the top of Tichka to enjoy the breathtaking and scenic views of the High Atlas Mountains. Traveling eastward, the trip passes through the village of Telouet and will bring back the historic house of the Glaoui family (Ksar El Glaoui), said to be one of the most powerful and inspiring Berber tribal leaders. Afterwards, the tour continues to Ait Ben Haddou’s Kasbah, a famous 16th century fortress that is UNESCO-listed to date to preserve and protect this famous site. In past years, its fame was built on a film making of Lawrence of Arabia and Jesus of Nazareth and more recently the sought out location for Gladiator, Kingdom of heaven and Prince of Persia,Game of thrones..Ect.
Lunch will be served in the city of Ouarzazate, followed by a visit to the Kasbah Taourirt, after that, the route takes you through the town of Skoura, through the valley of Roses towards Kalaat Megouna. The tour ends on the first day by crossing the Dades Gorge, the high limestone cliffs which have eroded over time resulting in particular rock forming structures.
Entering Boumalne du Dades, will bring you to your stay at the hotel.
Day 2 : From Dades to Marzouga
Next day you will get the chance to visit the Todra Gorge, a series of limestone river canyons, a stunning view over the gorge and river that attract hikers to the region from all over the world.
Automatically once we are there, we will enjoy the local’s company, by tasting their mint tea, and listening to their incredible stories, right after we will hit the road to Marzouga, the driver will go by the desert towns of Erfoud and Risani, to finally catch out our two hour camel ride in order to arrive to the desert camp where you will spend the night, to enjoy dinner, campfires, local desert music beneath the shining stars, free time and night in your private luxury tent.
Day 3 : Sahara excursion
This day is a Sahara desert visit with one of our 4*4 cars of the Erg Chebbi Dunes in an all-around tour of the dunes themselves. We visit places like the ancient mines of Mfis, the Gnawa village of Khamliya, Tisserdine, Hassilabied Oasis and drive, nomadic families,… etc., traditional local dishes for lunch, overnight in a hotel in Merzouga.
Day 4 : The way from Marzouga to Ouarzazate
Travel westward from Merzouga -Rissani -Alnif -Tazarin -Agdez -Draa Valley by visiting the Tamnougalt Kasbah. and have lunch there in the Chez Yacoub Kasbah, drive to Ouarzazate via Agdez/Ait seen mountains, Dinner and overnight in one of Ouarzazate’s best hotels.
day 5 : Going back to Marrakech
After breakfast, we will visit the important sites of the city of Ouarzazate, then we will drive back to Marrakech by visiting Telouet Kasbah
