Proposed Itinerary

Day 1 : Marrakech – Atlas moubtains

Depending on your arrival, you can either stay overnight in a traditional riad in Marrakech or drive straight to Imlil (1.5hr from Marrakech), the foothill of Jebel Toukbal (1740m). If the latter, then you will sleep in a traditional Berber house on the foothill of the mountain.

The ascent to the mountain is an early start. Breakfast will be served and a mountain guide will be there to accompany you during your hike. A mule is provided for carrying your bags and food/water necessary for the climb. The experience mountain guide will guide a walk through the traditional Berber villages around the surrounding area during your ascent. The route is planned that you pass the shrine of Sidi Chamharouch (2350m).

A time for rest and lunch will be served upon arrival, which is prepared freshly by a local cook. After this, the walk will continue until you reach 3200m altitude. Shower facilities are available and a traditional Moroccan meal will be provided. Accommodation is provided for the overnight stay. Also, tents are available for the summer months.

Day 2 : Toubkal Mountain – Imlil village. 

Early wake up on the next day, to avoid the strong rays of the sun during summer. Breakfast will be served at 5am and the final ascent will begin around 5.30am. Refreshments will be provided during the breaks (water, oranges, and nuts). There will be continuous trek for 3-4 hours until you reach  the summit (4167m). Once reaching the summit, there is an opportunity to enjoy the view and rest. After this, the descent from the mountain will begin; first reaching the hut (food provided-Lunch) and then return to Imlil village for an overnight stay.

Day 3 : Imlil – Ait benhaddou – Dades Gorge

Breakfast will be served prior to departure from Imlil village. The next part of the journey will take you to the Dades valley via Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass, crossing the high Atlas Mountains. There are breaks for lunch and coffee. Visits include:

Day 4 –  Travel to Merzouga desert

8am departure from the Dades valley region and moving towards the Merzouga desert via Tinehir and Todra gorge, visiting palm trees oasis of Tinejdad and Tourang.  There will be an opportunity to see the old canal irrigation used in this desert region of Erfoud and RIsani.

Once reaching the Merzouga dunes, camels are awaiting for your trek to your overnight desert camp. The camp are fully furnished with modern bathroom facilities. Dinner will be served, camp fire lit and an opportunity to listen to traditional desert tunes. Seeing the early sunrise is a must if no cloud in the sky and then a return to base of the Merzouga dunes

Day 5 : Merzouga desert – Ouarzazate

Travel towards west from Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Tazarin -Agdez -Draa Valley – Ouarzazat

An overnight stay at Le petite Riad or similar

Day 6 : Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After breakfast, travel back to Marrakech visiting Telouet Kasbsh, drop off at your accommodations, Free time and overnight stay. Riad 107 or similar

Day 7 : Marrakech Guided visit.

After breakfast meet the Guide and start discovering Marrakesh with its historical heritage, the visit includes ( Bahia palace, saadian tombs, Koutoubia mosque, jemaa el-fna Square, Souks, Jardine secret or Majorel garden.. Etc, free time and overnight stay or transfer to the airport according to your flight time.
